David Ogilvy, known as the "Father of Advertising" once said, “It has been found that the less an advertisement looks like an advertisement and the more it looks like an editorial, the more readers stop, look, and read.”

As its name implies, an advertorial is an advertisement that is written in the style of an editorial or journalistic piece of writing. In contrast to other forms of advertising that rely on short copy and a strong call-to-action, the longer length and objective tone of an advertorial make it a good medium for educating customers about a company’s products or services in depth.
